Rural communities across Balochistan and Sindh face chronic water scarcity, with women and children often traveling long distances to access unsafe drinking water. Responding to this critical humanitarian need, Tuaam-e-Miskeen Foundation launched its “Water is Life” initiative in 2021, beginning with pilot interventions in the severely water-stressed Bhag Nari area of District Kech, Balochistan.
Since its inception, the initiative has grown into one of TMF’s most impactful programs. As of January 2026, TMF has successfully completed 260 water projects, delivering clean, safe, and reliable drinking water to thousands of people across remote and underserved areas of rural Sindh and Balochistan. These projects have significantly reduced water-borne diseases, eased the daily burden on women and children, and improved overall community health and resilience.
Types of Water Projects Implemented
With the dedicated support of TMF’s local coordinators—who oversee on-site implementation and community engagement—the Foundation has installed the following categories of water solutions to date:
* Deep Water Boring Projects: 10
* Public Water Supply Projects: 10
* Small Hand Pumps: 215
* Large Hand Pumps: 15
* Solar-Powered Water Bores: 5
* Public School Water Projects: 5
Each project is designed according to local geography, groundwater conditions, and community needs, ensuring sustainability and long-term functionality.
