Mumtaz Begum Handicraft School

Mumtaz Begum Handi Craft School

The Mumtaz Begum Dastakari School is the flagship initiative of Tuaam‑e‑Miskeen Foundation, dedicated to advancing women’s empowerment through practical skill development and sustainable livelihood creation.

The School provides structured vocational training in traditional and contemporary handicrafts, enabling women—particularly from underserved and remote communities—to acquire market-relevant skills, achieve financial independence, and contribute meaningfully to their households and local economies. Beyond technical training, the program nurtures confidence, entrepreneurship, and dignity of work, creating a pathway from learning to earning.

As of today, the Mumtaz Begum Dastakari School has been successfully established in the following locations, reflecting TMF’s commitment to inclusive development across diverse regions of Pakistan:

1. Sibi, Balochistan
2.Sohbatpur, Balochistan
3. Jalalpur Pirwala, South Punjab
4. Ishkomen Valley, Gilgit-Baltistan

Through these centers, TMF is building resilient communities by investing in women as agents of change, preserving cultural crafts, strengthening local value chains, and fostering long-term socio-economic uplift.

The Foundation continues to expand the program’s reach, deepen training quality, and create stronger market linkages to ensure sustainable impact at scale.
